Minimix concrete is a ready-mixed concrete delivery service using smaller trucks than standard concrete mixers. It’s designed for projects or sites with restricted access, such as narrow streets, or residential areas.
Our concrete is available in a range of quantities, ensuring you get the exact amount you need. If you’re not sure if minimix is right for your project, please contact our friendly team who will be able to provide advice and support.
Our easy-to-use concrete calculator can help you work out how much concrete you need. You’ll need to provide the length, width, and depth for the area you need to cover.
We have a minimum order of 1m³ and a maximum capacity of 4m³ per truck – if your order exceeds this, we can make multiple deliveries.
We provide a wide range of concrete mixes suitable for almost every project. View the range and suitable applications. If you require a more bespoke mix, please contact the team so we can work with you to find the most appropriate concrete.
Concrete slump is a measure of workability and consistency. A higher slump means the concrete is more fluid before it sets. Choosing the right slump for your project is important and will save you time and mess.
We provide three different levels of slump of concrete – S1, S2 and S3.
S1: 10 – 40 slump – often referred to as dry or semi dry concrete. It has low workability and will sit in a pile as discharged from the truck. This is ideal for kerbs and pipe bedding applications.
S2: 50 – 70 slump – the concrete will have more workability and is best if you need to wheelbarrow it into position. It is typically used for strip footings and slabs.
S3: 95 – 125 slump – the concrete will be very fluid and highly workable. It is best used when high flowability is required such as trench filing and pump-based placement.
If you’re unsure which slump you need, please speak to the team.
This drawing shows the average dimensions of our minimix 4m³ delivery trucks. We do have some 6m³ trucks available in select locations, please speak to the team for more information.
Please be aware that these vehicles are very heavy and any area they need to travel across must be rated for heavy goods vehicle or there is a risk of breakage to the surface.
As standard all of our concrete is supplied in 20mm aggregate. We do offer a 10mm aggregate option for an additional charge. The main benefits include a smoother and more uniform finish, making it ideal for decorative concrete, as well as improved flowability and workability for tight spaces.
We can also add poly fibres to a mix. These help to prevent surface cracks during curing as well as increasing surface durability, preventing abrasion over time and improving the overall impact resistance of the mix.
We can provide concrete cube testing in certain areas if required. This is a method of assessing the compressive strength of the concrete to ensure it meets design and safety requirements. The process involves casting concrete into standard cube moulds which are then cured under controlled conditions. After curing, the cubes are subjected to compressive form, using a machine, until they fail. The maximum load at failure is recorded and used to calculate the compressive strength of the concrete. If you require concrete cube testing, please let us know when you place your order.
To complete your order, we’ll need to know the volume required, concrete grade or strength, the slump required, the delivery date and location, your unloading method (e.g. pump, chute or wheelbarrow). Please note the pump option is only available at select locations.
For more technical mixes we’ll also need to know the type of exposure (e.g. marine, environmental exposure) and any additive required (10mm aggregates, poly fibres, waterproofing).
Payment can be made through our secure payment system, we accept all major credit & debit cards. Please note we do not accept American Express.
You will only pay for the concrete you order so there is no need to worry about part load delivery charges. If you order 1m³ we won’t charge you for any unused truck capacity.
We understand that building projects can be unpredictable so you can cancel or rearrange your delivery up to 24 hours before the delivery is due to take place free of charge. If you need to cancel or rearrange a delivery due on the same day, please call the team to discuss the options available.
We offer a concrete pump line service in certain locations. Concrete pumps are ideal for hard-to-reach areas and where labour is limited..
If you need help getting your concrete just where you need it, and to make delivery faster ask the team about adding a concrete pump to your order. Contact us
We allow up to 30 minutes for our vehicles to be on site. If you need longer than this, please let the team know when you place your order.
This depends on how far the concrete needs to be transported. A good rule to follow is 25 full wheelbarrows is 1m³ of concrete. Please ensure you have adequate labour available to assist with the placement.
We only offer kerbside delivery, and our driver will not be able to assist you in moving materials. We do not supply wheelbarrows.
The truck will arrive at your delivery location at the time specified at the point of order, please ensure the access for the truck is clearly marked and free of obstruction to prevent delays.
The driver will check with you where you need the truck and how you plan to unload the concrete. Once the driver is in position, the chute will be readied at the rear of the vehicle to start unloading. Please note if you’re using wheelbarrows to unload the material, the driver will not be able to assist you.
You have limited time to unload the concrete of 30 minutes. Concrete starts to set quickly so time is of the essence.
Before the driver can return to the road, they will need to wash down their chute – this is a legal requirement. Please ensure you have somewhere available for them to do this.
If you need to add more water to your concrete your driver will be able to sort this for you. All our trucks come with a header tank full of water that can be added to the concrete and used to clean down the chute following unloading. Please be aware that by adding more water it will take the concrete out of specification, and you will need to sign a waiver to acknowledge that more water was added.
